In order to comply with UK money laundering regulations and help stop criminals from misusing financial products or services, we need to confirm your identity when you open a new account with us.
We will only ask for enough information to allow us to open your account.
What do I need to provide?
In order to confirm your identity, we need to verify your name and address.
- In most cases we can check your identity electronically, by using credit reference agencies to search sources of information relating to you. This is an identity search, and will not affect your credit rating.
- We may also ask you to provide ID evidence.
If we cannot confirm your identity, we will not be able to continue with your application.
If ID evidence is needed ...
We'll send you an email and/or SMS, with a link redirecting to our ID verification partner: Hooyu. They will verify your identity in order for your account to be set up.
Please follow the instructions provided - you'll need to take a selfie and a photo of your passport or other proof of ID.
If you don't have the documents to hand when you open the link, don't worry - you can reopen it later when you have everything you need.
You will have up to 7 days, starting from the date you requested an account with us, to complete the verification request. If you do not provide the required ID evidence within this period, we will not be able to continue with your application.
